*12 weeks*

This past week, my sister was diagnosed with preeclampia and had to be induced at 36 weeks for complications. She definitely had a hard time, but things are getting much better! Connor, her baby, is in the NICU but is doing well, and her husband Adam has been a true blessing to her. I really miss my little sister alot...I love them all so much and am OBSESSED with that little baby!!


I am doing well! My belly has started to pop some, and even my hubby has mentioned it! I am actually starting to love it and have began embracing it! I hit a deer on Wednesday coming home from work and have some damage so we had to get a rental car while mine is being fixed! Bummer.

But other than that, just craving the usual (cereal and fruit), and nausea comes and goes. I'm not quite as tired all of the time, which is GREAT!! Feeling pretty good, and I find myself staring at my UltraSound picture all the time :) I cannot BELIEVE I am almost into my second trimester!

PS: My amazing husband has been completely nicotine free for TWO WEEKS!!! <3

Where did you find out? AT HOME, ABOUT TWO HOURS BEFORE I WENT TO WORK ONE NIGHT, I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND TAKE A HPT. ONE LINE WAS DARK, ONE WAS FAINT...I ASKED DARYL HIS OPINION, AND HE JUST SMILED, THEN GAVE ME A HIGH FIVE. SUCH A GUY!! HAHA

How far along were you? ONLY 3 WEEKS 5 DAYS!

What was your reaction? I WAS SHOCKED, AS IT WAS OUR FIRST MONTH TRYING!

Who was the first person you told? MY HUBBY, THEN MOM AND SISTER!

How did you tell the father? I SHOWED HIM THE TEST.

What was his reaction? EXCITED & SHOCKED. HE THOUGHT IT WOULD TAKE LONGER!!

When is your due date? NOVEMBER 11, 2011 (11.11.11)!!

Did you have any morning sickness? I DID, YES. MAINLY FROM 5 1/2 WEEKS UNTIL ABOUT 11 WEEKS, THEN BAD DURING WEEK 12...JUST NAUSEA, THOUGH. NO VOMITTING!!

What are your fears? THE HEALTH OF OUR BABY!

What are you most happy about? THE FACT THAT I AM GOING TO HAVE A BABY! I CAN'T WAIT!

Did you want a boy or girl? I DON'T CARE!

What did the father want boy or girl? HE SAYS BOY 1st, THEN GIRL

Do you have a name picked out? WE'VE CHANGED OUR MINDS SEVERAL TIMES, AND WE STILL HAVE SOME AGREEING TO DO... BUT RIGHT NOW WE ARE LEANING TOWARDS: GIRL- CAMRYN ELIZABETH ---AND--- BOY- WAYLON BRIAN.

How much weight have you gained? AT 12 WEEKS-- APPX 6-7LBS. YIKES!! DON'T JUDGE ME...I EAT SUPER DUPER HEALTHY AND WORK OUT!!

Have you felt the baby move? NOT YET!

Do you plan on a natural or medicated birth? EPIDURAL PLEASE!

Are you scared about labor? A LITTLE, YES...

What do you think will be the worst part of labor?? Hoping my hubby doesn't pass out!!

*Weeks 9-10*

Weeks 9-10 were SOOO exciting!! I had my first prenatal appt at 9 weeks, which was my nurse appt. The nurse did a thorough family history and I had blood drawn and gave a urine specimen. My BP was 122/82, which is pretty good for me! The nurse told me "Wow, your blood pressure is very high". I just started laughing. HaHa. Daryl waited for me in the waiting room b/c he wasn't allowed back while she went over questions with me. They gave me a nice Pregnancy book and a lot of information about Virginia Baptist Hospital, where I will be having our baby. Next week is our first US!!

At 10 weeks, we had our first prenatal appt with our OB-GYN! She is so awesome...Dr. Schindler at Women's Health Care Services of VA. I had my annual pap and everything was great. Have gained appx 5-6lbs. BP was high but I was soooo nervous: 140/80. Oopsie! Daryl was a tid uneasy with all of it hehe. Then, she got the wand and did the internal US...

Bum, Bum, Bum, Bum....HeartBeat 160 bpm! Daryl said, "Is that my baby's heartbeat!?" The MD said, "Yes it is! Very strong!" And then we saw the little sugar pie...sitting up on the side, as you can see in the picture. Then, he/she started "swimming", doing a little dance for us! We were over the moon!! Next appt: May 25th. I have to do a 24 hr urine test before that appt due to my Blood Pressure. We went and got me some "bigger" clothes, but no maternity clothes yet!!

The rest of week 10, was pretty good. Nausea is getting better. Daryl went to the doctor and began medicine to help him quit smoking! I am so proud and happy, and relieved! He wants to be smoke-free when our baby arrives!!

Cravings: FRUIT!, ice cream

*8 WEEKS*

So I am now in week 8 of my pregnancy! I am still working night shift, so that is tough on my poor body. My weight fluctuates between 3-5 lbs, depending on the day! I am trying to drink alot of water, but it makes me nauseated! I am able to eat my veggies again, so that is good. I am MAJORLY craving fruits, all kinds (Daryl said that is nothing new)! I want all healthy foods, so I frequently eat fruits, granola, yogurt, chicken, and small amounts of fish (salmon, tilapia...no tuna!).


We bought a lawnmower and grill this week, so lots of grillin' is going on!

I still get nervous at times, esp. when I cramp a little.

We have now told some of our closest friends and extended family, but have kept it off of the internet. Just a few more weeks and we will announce it! I did tell my boss at work that I am preggo, and she was super supportive!! Very glad that big obstacle is done. Here's for smooth sailing!!<3
